Dean Black – Director
Dean founded Continuity Solutions in 2004 after identifying a gap in the South African market for a specialist Business Continuity Management (BCM) and Disaster Recovery (DR) provider. Building on his previous experience within the IT industry, Dean went on to obtain his PECB ISO 22301 Lead Implementer Certification, further strengthening his expertise in business continuity and organisational resilience.
Over the past two decades, Dean has played an integral role in developing and implementing BCM strategies and delivering Disaster Recovery solutions for a range of organisations across South Africa, including Investec, Ithala Bank and Europcar.
In recent years, Dean has transitioned away from the day-to-day management of the business, with operational responsibility being handed over to Calvin Black. He continues to serve as a Director of Continuity Solutions, providing strategic guidance and drawing on more than 2 decades of experience in the Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery industry.
Calvin Black – Chief Operating Officer
Calvin joined Continuity Solutions nearly a decade ago, initially on a part-time basis while completing his Bachelor of Accounting degree. Over the years, he has progressed through the business and now serves as Chief Operating Officer, taking responsibility for the day-to-day operations and management of Continuity Solutions.
Combining a strong commercial and financial background with extensive hands-on experience in the Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery industry, Calvin oversees the company’s operations, client relationships, service delivery and business development. His practical approach and commitment to continually developing his knowledge have enabled him to maintain the high level of service Continuity Solutions’ clients have come to expect.
Calvin has also played a pivotal role in the continued growth of Continuity Solutions, helping to expand the company’s client base, grow revenue and build on the strong foundation established by Dean since the company’s inception.
